Future Foods Workshop

Message Maps for Consumer Engagement on Future Foods

4pm May 8th Nurasa, Centros, Biopolis

The Communication Leadership in Future Food (CLIFF) initiative, managed by the Agri-Biotech Knowledge Centre in Singapore, is pleased to partner with Nurasa for an event to discuss message maps associated with risk issues in Future Foods (Plant-based, cultivated meat, precision fermentation, etc.).

This event targets the alumni of our two risk communication courses held last year, BUT all other interested parties are welcome to attend to gain insight into risk communication-based strategies for consumer engagement on Future Foods.

The CLIFF program is supported by GFI-APAC and FRESH – the Future Ready Food Safety Hub.

PROGRAM

Amidst reduced interest from consumers and investors, resistance to technologies in some quarters, e.g., Italy and the banning of cultivated meat, and high-profile failures and economic woes of some companies which have led to an erosion of trust in the sector, there is a growing realisation that communication around the future food space must change. There is a real need to move beyond the current PR modality, as this alone will not win the battle for the consumer.  We believe that it is vital that the tools and techniques of Risk Communication be included in our interactions with consumers (and governments/regulators). We must be proactive in managing the pushback that we are facing.
